Become a Local Governor
Have you ever considered using your skills and experience to help shape the future of education within our Catholic schools?
As a Local Governor at St Raphael the Archangel, you will play an important role in supporting school leaders, providing constructive challenge, and helping to ensure that every child receives the best possible education. Governors come from a wide range of professional and personal backgrounds, bringing valuable experience in areas such as education, finance, estates, HR, safeguarding, business, and community engagement.
Being a governor is a rewarding opportunity to:
- Make a positive difference to the lives of children and young people.
- Support the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Contribute your skills and expertise to school improvement.
- Develop your own leadership and governance experience.
- Serve your local community in a meaningful way.
No previous governance experience is required. Training and support are provided, and people from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The Birmingham Diocesan Education Service (BDES) works with schools and Multi Academy Companies across the Archdiocese to recruit and appoint governors and directors, helping to ensure strong governance across our Catholic schools.
If you are interested in becoming a Local Governor, you can find out more information on the BDES governance website [birmingham...ese.org.uk] or alternatively, please email governance@bdes.org.uk as we would be delighted to hear from anyone interested in supporting the continued success of our schools.
